From after Fajr until the sun comes up, the slave does not sleep! Be careful!

Message forward:

Shaykh Muhammad bin Ghaalib:

…It has come in the Haadith as narrated by Al-Haakim and other than him, with an authentic chain of narration; ”My nation has been blessed in it’s early rising” ”My nation has been blessed in it’s early rising”.Now the people stay up late and after Fajr they sleep, we ask Allah for Safety and Wellness. Consequently, Ibn Al-Qayyim says in the latter parts of the first volume of ‘Madaarij Al-Saalikeen’: ”…if they, I.e the Predecessors, would reach the morning prayer they would not sleep until the sun comes up. For indeed it is a time that the sustenance of the people are divided!”From after Fajr until the sun comes up, the slave does not sleep! Be careful! Ibn Mas’uud (may Allah be pleased with him) came back to his house (after Fajr) and two men followed him so he entered his house. The two men stayed behind at the door so he (Ibn Mas’uud) returned back to them and he said; “Why didn’t you enter?” they replied; “we thought that there could be someone sleeping”. It’s after Fajr, maybe there could be someone there sleeping. He (Abdullah Ibn Masu’ud) said:“SubhanAllaah! Are we an evil people who sleep after Fajr?”   This is what Ibn Mas’uud says may Allah be pleased with him.
